Accessibility
Meridian is committed to making both our digital presence and our events accessible to everyone. This page describes the standards we follow, the measures we have taken, and how to request accommodations.
1. Our Commitment
Accessibility is a core requirement, not an afterthought. Meridian Corporate Events is committed to ensuring that our website, our event planning processes and the events we produce are accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that everyone — attendees, clients, vendors and team members — should be able to participate fully and independently.
This page sets out the standards we aim to meet, the measures we have taken to date, and how to reach us if you encounter an accessibility barrier or need an accommodation.
2. Standards We Follow
Our website is designed and developed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are organized around four principles:
Perceivable
Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive — including through text alternatives, adaptable content and sufficient contrast.
Operable
User interface components and navigation must be operable — including via keyboard, with enough time to interact, and without triggering seizures or physical reactions.
Understandable
Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable — with readable text, predictable behavior and input assistance where needed.
Robust
Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including current and future assistive technologies.
We also reference the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices and the Revised Section 508 standards for federal procurement where relevant to our client engagements.
3. Measures We Have Taken
To meet our accessibility targets, we have taken the following steps on this website:
- Structured HTML with semantic landmarks, correct heading hierarchy and page titles that describe each page's purpose
- Alternative text for all content images and descriptive labels for iconography
- Color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 AA minimums for body text, headings and interactive elements
- Full keyboard accessibility for navigation, forms, drawers, modals and the cookie banner
- Visible focus indicators throughout the site
- Form fields with programmatically associated labels, clear error messaging and required field announcements
- Skip-to-content consideration and logical tab order
- Reduced-motion preferences respected where animations are decorative
- Test coverage across current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, plus VoiceOver and NVDA screen readers
- Regular automated accessibility scans and periodic manual reviews
Under continuous review. Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time project. We audit the site periodically and address issues as they are identified.
4. Accessibility At Events
Because our business is event production, we extend accessibility commitments to the events we plan and manage. On client engagements, we routinely address:
- Venue accessibility: step-free access, accessible restrooms, elevator access, quiet rooms and clear wayfinding
- Communication access: ASL interpretation, live captioning for presentations, and printed materials in accessible formats
- Dietary and medical accommodations: clearly labelled menus, ingredient lists and safe handling procedures
- Assistive listening: hearing loop or FM systems where the venue supports them
- Transport: accessible shuttle options and accessible parking
- Registration: a clear process for attendees to request accommodations in advance, with a named contact
We work with clients to identify the audience's needs before the program is designed so that accommodations are integrated into the plan, not retrofitted at the last minute.
5. Known Limitations
We are transparent about areas where accessibility may be limited. As of the date of this page:
- Some third-party embedded content (for example, map previews) may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA requirements. Where we use third-party tools, we select providers with strong accessibility records, but we cannot fully control third-party implementations.
- Some PDF documents may not be fully tagged for assistive technology. If you need a document in an alternative format, contact us and we will provide it.
- Complex animations on some sections may be reduced or disabled for users with a reduced-motion preference, but a small number of transition effects do not fully honor that preference.
If you encounter a barrier that is not described here, please let us know — we take every report seriously and will respond with a remediation plan or an alternative way for you to access the information or service.
6. Assistive Technology Compatibility
The Meridian website is designed to work with current versions of the following assistive technologies:
- VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
- NVDA and JAWS on Windows
- TalkBack on Android
- Dragon NaturallySpeaking for voice input
- Operating system level screen magnification and high-contrast modes
If you use a specific assistive technology not listed above and encounter a problem, please contact us so that we can investigate and, where needed, adjust our implementation.
7. Feedback and Requests
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website and our events. You can reach the accessibility team at [email protected], or by calling the main office line.
When you contact us, it helps if you can tell us:
- The web address or page where you encountered the issue
- A description of the barrier you experienced
- The assistive technology or browser you were using, where relevant
- The format in which you would prefer to receive information
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within two business days and to provide a substantive response or remediation plan within ten business days. For event-related accommodation requests, please contact your Meridian producer as early as possible so that we can confirm arrangements with the venue and vendors.
8. Formal Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may escalate the matter in writing to our Managing Director at the postal address below. We will review the matter internally and respond in writing within 30 days.
We keep records of accessibility complaints and the actions taken in response. This helps us identify recurring issues and improve our practice over time.
9. Ongoing Improvements
We review the accessibility of the website on a rolling basis and address issues as they are identified. We also review accessibility practices on client engagements after each program, and incorporate lessons learned into future planning. Where a client engagement involves an audience that includes attendees with specific accessibility needs, we will work with the client to define the accommodations and document them in the run-of-show.
10. Contact Us
If you have accessibility questions, feedback or accommodation requests, please contact us.
