Why Meridian

Four things that make this a different kind of agency.

We are deliberately mid-sized and producer-led. That shapes the work, the pay and the day-to-day.

01

Producers own the work

The people who run the events are the people who decide how the company operates. No agency layer between you and the client.

02

Real ownership from week one

You will not spend a year as a second seat. New producers are given their own engagements within their first quarter, with a senior producer available as backup.

03

We say no to bad work

We turn down engagements we cannot deliver well. That means fewer late-night fire drills and a production calendar that is genuinely sustainable.

04

Comp that reflects output

Base salaries above market for the role, plus a profit share for senior producers and above. Numbers are shared with candidates on the first call.

Open Roles

Seven positions currently open.

All roles include full medical, dental and vision coverage from the first day, 20 days of paid time off, and a personal travel budget. Salaries are quoted as base ranges.

Team working on an event site Where the work actually happens
Day To Day

What the job really looks like.

Event production is a specific kind of work. Here is what a first year at Meridian actually involves.

  • 1
Roughly 50% office, 30% site visits, 20% on-siteProduction is not glamorous most days. Most of the work is contracts, budgets and coordinating vendors. The on-site days are the reward.
  • 2
Roughly 25 – 30 travel days per yearSite visits, vendor meetings and event days. Most travel is domestic and scheduled weeks in advance. Weekend travel is rare and comped.
  • 3
You will work some evenings and weekendsMost events happen after 5pm or on weekends. We schedule compensating time off in the two weeks following any event weekend.
  • 4
You will own your first engagement within a quarterEven junior producers are given real ownership quickly. You will not spend a year fetching coffee.
  • 5
You will know whether you like the work in six monthsEvent production is not for everyone, and that is fine. We hire for trajectory, not for years served elsewhere.

04

Our Values

Four things we hold ourselves to.

Own the outcome

One producer owns each engagement end to end. We do not pass responsibility up the chain when something goes wrong. We fix it, then we write down what we learned.

Say the hard thing early

If a date does not work, if a budget is unrealistic, if a client is asking for something we cannot deliver — we say so on the call, not three weeks later.

No invisible work

Every cost, every decision and every risk is documented in writing. Our team members do not carry invisible burdens that only surface when something breaks.

Protect the calendar

We do not sell more than we can deliver. That means saying no to engagements, pacing our event calendar and treating rest as a production requirement.

Careers Questions

Answers for prospective team members.

For producer roles, yes — we look for at least one year of event or hospitality experience. For logistics, creative and client services roles, we hire from adjacent industries regularly.

For on-site event staff, yes — those roles are inherently distributed. For full-time producer and logistics roles, we expect two to three days per week in either Chicago or Austin.

You sign up for market-specific assignments as they become available. Assignments are typically one to three days each. Per-diem and mileage are reimbursed on top of the hourly rate.

Yes. The on-site staff role is open nationwide. For full-time roles, we will consider remote candidates who can commit to travel for site visits and events.
